WHAT DOES IT INVOLVE? All BMW vehicles with a production date after 2020/06 are equipped with new security protocols in the engine control unit (ECU). These can only undergo chiptuning after 'cracking' the protocol.
Due to our expertise in BMW and the large numbers of vehicles receiving tuning from us, we have a partnership with our partner located in Finland. This service is only offered at their location, and we serve as the collection point for these ECUs in the Netherlands.
After the unlock has been performed, the vehicle can be tuned by us.
THE PROCESS You can easily make an appointment with us to leave your vehicle with us. This can be done through our contact form. We dismantle the engine computer properly, report it, select the correct tuning tool, and send the ECU in a secure package to our partner in Finland. This takes an average of 5-7 days. During this time, your BMW is safely parked inside with us. After we receive the ECU back, we start developing the software for your BMW. Depending on your preferences, we perform the tuning with or without dynoresults. Your BMW is ready to be picked up after an average of 5 business days.
WARRANTY AND SECURITY If, unfortunately, the ECU is lost and/or damaged during shipment, we will naturally provide an appropriate solution. Automatic updates in your vehicle will cause the performed unlock to disappear. This means that the ECU must be resent, for which we only charge half of the costs. Our experienced technicians know exactly how to disassemble the ECU without causing a short circuit. It is also important during assembly that all connectors are mounted correctly without damaging the vulnerable elements. Your vehicle is securely stored in our workshop on a protected site during the unlock process.
